General Rules

  • Teams are to arrive complete and on time at the venue. Allowances will not be made for latecomers.
  • No map hacking. The player and/or team caught map hacking will be disqualified from the tournament.
  • No flaming. The player and/or team found flaming in a tournament game will be warned once only. The second offense will result in disqualification from the tournament.
  • Zero tolerance for ignorance. Any questions regarding the rules, point system, format, etc. must be raised before the tournament proper. If a player and/or team do not read the Rules and Guidelines and then questions about it during the tournament proper, they will get a warning. The second offense will result in disqualification from the tournament.
  • Teams are restricted to 5 players. Upto 2 substitutes are allowed.
  • VERY IMPORTANT! “In the event that no one quits the game until(after) the bases are destroyed at the end of the time limit, the point system will be used to determine the winner.”

Match Rules and Restrictions

    • Game Mode: Captain’s Mode (–cm) / all pick (-ap) (in game)
    • Coin Toss
    • The match will begin with a coin toss and winner of the coin toss will get to choose the Sentinel/Scourge side of the map or Hero Drafting.
    • Hero drafting: Players are requested to practice in –cm mode to avoid confusion. Players will first eliminate 8 heroes from the pool in 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 format followed by hero drafting in 1-2-2-2-2-1 format.
    • There will be no restriction on player’s choice of heroes.
    • All matches before quarter-finals are to be of 35 mins. For quarter-final and semi-final matches are to be of 45 mins. The final is to be of 90 mins.

Important Rules

  • Team that chooses the sentinel side will host the game.
  • Team members are not allowed to change seats once DotA map has started to load.
  • At the end of the match, players must maintain the final screenshots and receive confirmation. Failure to do so will cause the game to be void and no winner will be declared for that game.
  • Item Sharing is allowed as long it is permitted by the game.
  • Item Restriction: 1 Arcane Ring, 1 Necrominion, 2 Eul’s Scepter of Divinity or Guinsoo or 1 Eul and 1 Guinsoo, 2 Mekasm and 1 Refresher Orb is allowed per team.
  • No pooling is allowed. Pooling is any act wherein players purchase items for sale or use of another player.
  • No Creep Blocking. Creep blocking is not allowed but creep slowing is allowed. Blocking here refers to the prolonged blocking of creeps to disrupt their usual path. (i.e.: Using Chen’s creeps to block the entire entrance of the base for a long time.) Creep slowing means that you can stop the creeps from moving in their usual path for a few seconds only.

Disconnections

  • Any team members who intentionally drop out of the game might cause that member’s team to be given a game loss for that game.
  • If the game hangs, do not change anything and leave the screen as it is. Pause the game and notify immediately.
  • If any players are disconnected within 5 minutes after game starts or before first blood, then the game has to restart.
  • If any players are disconnected 5 min after game starts then the game will continue. The dropped player’s team must team sell the items and send him the hero to his/her circle of power and freeze the hero.
  • After disconnection the team with advantage can call for remake or continue. If a team scores 15 points more than the opponent then the team is said to be in advantage. If no team is in advantage then the organizers decision is final.

Saving of Game & Game crashes/Fatal error

  • The game will be saved at the occurrence of First Blood.
  • At the 5th minute mark, the game will be saved once for a backup saved game. After the 5th minute mark at every 15 minutes interval, the game will be saved for a backup saved game.
  • Any game crash after 65 minutes will not be continued anymore and a decision will be made by the Organizers of that match based on the replay of that match.
  • In the times of a game crash/fatal error, the official’s decision after review will be final.

BACKDOOR RULES

  • The two teams must decide on backdoor policy.
  • Backdoor will be allowed if any one of the team supports backdooring.
  • Backdoor will be disallowed only in the case when both the teams decide to disallow it.
  • Organizer’s decision is final.

P.S.: The above mentioned rules can be modified by the organizers and their decision will be final.
